2017-18 Tax Return Deadline – Paper Submission – 31st October 2018. The Deadline to register as self-employed for 2017-18 is 5th October 2018. Tax is usually deducted automatically from wages, pensions and savings. People and businesses with other income must report it in a tax return. Self Assessment is a system HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) uses to collect Income Tax.
